Recently, the Solana network was hacked, causing a serious loss in which about 8000 wallets were exploited.
After investigating, the Solana team discovered that the seed phrases of the wallets were leaked through the Slope platform. A wave of criticism aiming at the Solana network has surged. Many organizations and individuals began to say that the Solana network security system is weak and obsolete.
Samuel Bankman-Fried, CEO of exchange FTX and former CEO of hedge fund Alameda Research, tweeted that it is ridiculous to censure a blockchain network just because a dApp built on that network has problems.
Solana tweeted to assert that this incident does not prove the weakness of the Solana network. The issues have been clarified and the security bug initially came from the Slop platform.
